Hi! I've learned the triads in A, C and D keys (the ones that I want to use for now) horizontally and vertically, as well as learning the modes, but still I can't seem to come up with any musical ideas, all my solos sounds like a bunch of random notes that I play in order to keep up with the chord changes (I IV V)
So, from what I read (and what mr. Tomo Fujita said) in order to sound good not all should be improvised, just a little bit and almost 50% should be composed, for that I read that I should know licks and use them
Any ideas on how or where should I learn licks? :(
I really like fusion, rock and blues music (casiopea, masayoshi takanaka, pink floyd, omega tribe, joe satriani, etc) and I want to at leas sound decent when soloing, I just can't seem to put my knowledge to practice to make anything that sounds interesting or pleasent to the ear
Thank you for sharing.
Could you tell me which lesson are you talking about?
Good job learning those triads.
You can learn from any singers from blues / R&B...
Do you know Donny Hathaway " LIVE "
Listen to " What's going on? " Great vocal phrasing right there!
You can use triads to outline each chords.
Then you can add a little minor pentatonic phrasing but less notes ... 2 to 3 notes.
Very simple and more with dynamics, emotion and rhythm.

Yes. You can prepared your solo a little bit.
If you just improvised then you are improvised your improvisation...
Not great results.
If you like any fusion... you really need to learn jazz standards (for harmony)
Thank you.
