Playing with numbness?

Hey everyone. I am 31 and a pretty advanced playing, playing a lot as well as working at a desk job. My right picking hand has carpal tunnel.. and my right index and middle are constantly numb. Does anyone else experience this? Had surgery? How do you cope with it?

Funny thing... my keyboard technique is so horrible... in many years ago... I felt a little numbness before Japan Tour!

So I had to drop my typing time after that. So many emails to reply...

Chas, I am only an advanced beginner, when it comes to playing, so take this with a grain of salt. However, with regard to the desk job aspect, something that may help is an ergonomic keyboard (and general desk ergonomics). It can help reduce overall stress on your hands. If you can afford it, I recommend using a Kinesis Advantage keyboard. It's not cheap but they are built like tanks and mine has been working without issues for over a decade.
