Hey guys,
I’ve been subscribing to guitar wisdom for quite some time now, following the Berkelee book as well as focusing on triads and arpeggios, I even took a break from Tomo’s chord series and studied the arpeggio book by Mimi Fox (good book) because I felt I really needed to hone in on it more before I continue. But now I feel like I know all these arpeggios, but never can make music out of it, as the title says, there are too many tools in the shed that I got no projects to work on, does anybody here feel the same way? If so, can you share how you break out of it?
Thank you!!
Thanks so much for sharing! Triads, if you play each note individually, then it's triad arpeggio & you can figure out many choices. Best way is not use any diagrams because that will limit your choices. Music theory in general... those wont make good music! Learn chord progressions & simple melody on one string! Only arpeggios ... very mechanical...up & down! What's about rhythmic aspect on music?
Thank you so much for the feedback! Since this post, I’m been really into the funk genre and triads as well, for my rhythm practice, I’ve been learning konnakol language! Hope you will check it out if you haven’t already!!
Thank you for reigniting my passion for music and guitar! Thank you for creating this world class service!!
You're very welcome! I am so happy that you are working very hard! For funk... left hand muting technique & right hand strumming technique needed so you need to practice more R 3 7 Swing Rhythm Guitar... that I teach at Berklee. I teach a lot of triads but I have to test each students whether they can play those triads in time. Two seconds! you need to know next inversions! Thank you so much!
Yes, I am definitely practicing those! thank you so much!
