In 2nd Example, there shows Melodic Minor and Lydia b7.
Backing Track as F-7 | Bb(13).
the F-7 = F Ab C Eb
the Bb(13) = Bb D F Ab G
so the note of these chords is F G Ab Bb C D Eb.
When Key = F they are 1 2 b3 4 5 6 b7, it's fit the Dorian Mode.
I could not hit the scale Melodic Minor or Lydia b7.
Please give more explanation of this example.
Thanks.
Thank you so much for sharing!
F-7 Bb7 groove.
F Dorian... Bb Mixolydian is simple
You can make a little blusey too!
Bossa Nova music has more colorful notes.
F-9 to Bb7(b5) etc...
Any minor like this.. you can play a melodic minor..
but if you play a correct scale up & down then sounds like an exercise no matter how many hours you practice.
This lick ( phrasing ) is I use.
Start from 9th then go down by 1/2 step to M7.
Then go back to 9th. Then Root ...then 5th
My song KYOTO has these quality.
Maybe you can learn chords & Melody...
Then soloing idea...
