Hi,
I recently subscribed and am really enjoying the content. I've started doing the chromatic fingering exercises and found that I cannot eliminate finger noise on the descending single string chromatic (4-3-2-1). I have been doing these exercises on an acoustic guitar to make it easier to hear finger noise. Ascending seems fine, but I would appreciate any tips to improve my descending scale.

"Thanks so much for subscribing to my Guitar Wisdom. First, try to play the chromatic scale super slowly. Please watch my videos for more details. Stay on the 4th and 3rd Strings for a while. Play with all down strokes at a super slow tempo. If you hear noise, stop and think 'WHY?' Then, slow down even more!
"Play a descending chromatic scale at a slower tempo than an ascending chromatic scale. Put your 4 fingers lightly on top of the string before you start 4321.
"In general, playing a chromatic scale with no noise requires more attention to detail than people expect."

I teach this topic to all my Berklee students with depths.
1) Chromatic scale on only 4th string.
2) No tempo! Free tempo so that you can play simple chromatic (1234)
Each note can sustain full duration & no gap between nest 1/2 step up (next position)
3) Play them super slow so each note has a long duration and NO finger Noise! No String Noise!
This technique will make you better guitar player!
