Simplicity to Colorful. Thank you Tomo for offering this lesson. Simplicity is beauty in the triads and colorful in the jazz chords!
I love two things in general. Simplicity & Limitation!
Thanks for sharing this Ken!
You have your own way to express this simple song to more colorful way.
Congratulations on your guitar journey! Looking forward to more!
Thank you.

Thank you Tomo or your support and encouragement! I would like to learn more about limitation. In general I think of it as restricting myself to a 3-5 fret area when practicing certain things. But pretty sure there are more nuances than that. Do you have a suggestion for me to get the most from limitation? Many Thanks!
You're very welcome!
Yes! When I am practicing something... I am always looking for some sort of limitation.
For example, If I practice E Blues... I want to decide a few things. What's lowest note? What's highest note? How many times? What main melody? What's main rhythm? This way I can get some results clearly!
Once I am so comfortable playing around o fret to 3rd fret.... then I switch key to Eb... Now I cannot use some familiar open position! E form ( 1 2 3 4 set strings) Then I can switch to 2345 set strings same notes! C form!
Something like that. Hope this helps!
Thank you!
Tomo
By the way, what guitar is this? The tone is beautiful!
Thank you Tomo. I will try to use limiting. So in your example, Eb on strings 2345, C form referencing Eb on string 5, 6th fret. Am I correct in my interpretation?
The guitar is a 1970 Bozo Bell Western, made by Bozo Podunavac a Yugoslavian immigrant, now deceased. He made 12 strings for Leo Kotke and some other names. I bought it in 1980. Sitka Spruce top, Back & sides old Brazilian rosewood, ebony fingerboard and mahogany neck. I'm very fortunate to have this guitar! On the day I bought it, I was all set to buy a Martin. I played 8 Martins and then this one. It was a keeper!
You're very welcome! Thank you for your reply! Yes! It's all about triads & intervals so no need to think shape anymore!
Thanks for explain your guitars! Fantastic! Great job! The tone is so good!
Thank you.
