Hi forum and Tomo!

I love the site i play for 6 month and learn here and i have improved more than 10 years play randomly scales and half songs!

I just revisited the Beginner section and i would love some solo ideas in B20 this chords and progression sounds very sweet!

The things that i need guidance are
1) I can sing and play the shuffle but i get really confused with all this melody with the tatata is the 3rd day now and i am really struggle to remember all this tata melodies! (I even got to YouTube and learn the bending etude on guitar but still struggle!)
2) how i should train improvisation on some simple chords progression i have practice my triads and i am in some point that i can understand in a low level the degrees and can find even vocal melodies from songs with some effort but i haven't yet learn licks with the degrees over specific chords except your blues lessons! Also when i try to improvise i find more difficult to go up and down with the triads and i am currently thinking to start learning every position separately and made the changes there but even there the improv doesn't sound very good! should I learn some licks that respond to the changes!?

1) Singing melody against Shuffle Bass Line.
a) Make sure you play super simple shuffle bass line without any fills. No fills!
Chord changes: 1 1 1 1 4 4 1 1 5 4 1 1 ...so super simple,
b) Leann these melody first. - C Jam Blues by Count Basie - Bag's groove by Milt Jackson, and Blue Monk etc.
Or any simple blues melody and watch out every end note duration.
Basically you need to learn any simple melody by ear. It takes time,

2) First you can try your improvisation around any melody. No melody = no audience! Then play Do Re Mi of each chord then connect two triad inversions. Try to play less notes and pause 2 beats or more. That's why no melody then ..ended up playing a bunch of notes with no rhythm. Or sing rhythm with one pitch. Can you make it fun rhythm. If your answer is no... then you need to listen blues album. 1-2 albums for 3-6 months. You can make as If you were brought up with your blues love parents! This could work! That was I did!

3) Think about phrasing. Think about each phrase on each chord and make sure you can analyze them.
M3 of I chord or M6 b7 of IV chord etc. Did you study this lesson? Blues etude.

Thank you so much that you answered! I learned the above lessons and really enjoy and understand the degrees and this beautiful phrases i know is kind of the same in the guitar wisdom but this had it in a playing c blues format and it was very helpful!

Can you please give me an example with a lesson that we give melody and play the note of the triads with this interesting rhythm i mostly sound like exercise when I focus to play the triads above the chords! Also some phrases on some simple 1645 progression or something like thatbit would be gold! How should i build my vocabulary! The phrases on this 7 chords is gold because I can move them around knowing the degrees and triads!

You are looking for simple melody & Triad inversions mix, applying to chord progressions.

I made a video playing two triad inversions & play Do Re Mi on each chord, very rhythmically playing.
I teach this to all my private lesson students. Somehow I can locate that video. I will look up. Or make a new one!

Hi again i am focusing this days to learn the blues lesson mixing major minor and the double stops - turnaround! I have put in my fingers some of the phrases you demonstrate but sometimes i focus on the phrase and i miss the timing and i am getting lost! Especially when i don't use one of the phrases that you showed us but I try to improvise with those! The problems , questions are 2!
1) how to practise this to follow better!? At this time i record in 80 bpm to play with metronome the E shuffle and i put some reps in!
2)I can't recognise if i stop fast and accurate the chord (bass note shuffle!) Which i am at that point i can make a guess! But I have lost where the blues is exactly and i am not confident that i really am familiar with each chord! How i fix that i was thinking to just put and listen this recording many times and try to memorize the sound but I thought to ask first!!
