AT 36 Triads played through Parker Blues Form - Tomo Fujita Guitar Wisdom Forums

Hi Tomo & Forum members. Studying this lesson and trying to create some flow with triads only on Parker blues form. The challenging part for me is remembering the form as I play it. The triads are falling into place on the fretboard. Looking forward to a more complete melodic approach in the next lesson! Thanks Tomo for this lesson. I'm beginning to see how triads are truly the building blocks to a connected solo! Awesome.

Try a little slower tempo.

Now you should listen the sound before you pick those notes and try not look at the fretboard all the times.

Thanks for your feedback Tomo! I did not want this to be a honed performance, but more of a study, and an honest reflection of where I'm at. Lots of improvement is needed for sure and I don't want to pretend that I have mastery, but I do want to keep moving, keep practicing and not get stuck on the same lesson until it is 'perfect' (not sure what that is exactly anyway), and that could take a long time too!

When you said: "One super important is do not connect each notes... separate each notes as arpeggios." Do you mean to avoid notes ringing when playing arpeggios so they don't bleed together? And to separate each note when playing the arpeggios?

I will slow down as you suggest. What you're saying makes sense. How you done any lesson on listening to the sound before you pick the notes? When I prepare something I find that after a while I hear what they will sound like, but it's more from repetition and memory than anything else. Any help here would be appreciated. Thanks Tomo.

Nothing to personal or not absolute answer. Just some ideas & hints around your video. Thank you so much!

Arpeggios are individual notes and you connect at few places. Even 1 second if you sustain two notes... you are not play them separately. Very very tiny details which is super important.

I like to do slower and slower! This way my practice time is not too long. I try not to memorize anything. I try to hear things deeper.
In private lessons, I highly recommend not to write any fretboard/positions!

One more thing.

You can try to play things pretty neat.
I never try to be able play perfectly!

In order to play neatly.... need to be slow down anytime if you can play them in tempo *any tempo

I like that you said: "I like to do slower and slower! This way my practice time is not too long." I understand that going slower really does provide more time to think, listen.
But "I try not to memorize anything" (?) Do you mean the solo, the starting note? You do memorize the form, correct?
I like when you say "hear things deeper". Can you say something about that Tomo? Thank you so much. This really does help, so thank you, thank you!

I think you are too smart!
I try not to memorize positions because if I remember too much then I can not change easily.
So I repeat a lot with slow tempo so that my ear can catch up with my playing.
I try to familiar with things with many repetitions.

No memorize the form!
Be familiar with the form!
Slightly different.

Deeper means, something more clear and no one answer about that.
I think you need to think and feel it deeper so you just cannot understand it too fast!
Maybe you can try to think about it a few days?

I think it's too fast!
Meaning is takes time to understand it.
