Hey Tomo I know triads are the building blocks of music but when I'm thinking about playing a triad it becomes obviously very crucial that i already know what the 3rd and 5th in a major for example, but it takes way too long to figure it out in my head what the notes are to practically apply it. Is there a way to efficiently memorize the notes for each chord without having to count steps from root to third, third to 5th and instead just already know which notes to play?
Thank you for sharing!
Learn Major Scale on one string super slowly first so you know all name of notes, intervals & singing Do Re Mi,...
Then learn C Triad inversions on vertical, horizontal & same inversions.
Thinking, feeling, all the notes, names, intervals & Do Mi So / Mi So Do / So Do Mi
Take your time as much as you need!
Do not rush at all. Very crucial how to learn them.
No memorization!
Be familiar with them.

Its just that if you're jamming and one of the chords that is coming up is something funny like g#dim and you're in a position where it would nice to play a second inversion but not knowing the 5th note is going to make you miss your chance to play! (i know that it's d) but it doesn't appear in my head right away, i need to calculate it. Because i feel like if you want to play 1st and 2nd inversions all over the neck, the 3rd and 5th notes need to appear right away in your head?
You record everything so something like that you learn it & you can prepare more.
when you practice triads & diminished chords... you need to know all intervals so you needed to be prepared them before you are jamming.
Jamming (performance) and practicing (learning) is different mind set.
Thank you.
