Recommendations for a Guitar Stool or Chair?

Hi All,

Since I posted the chromatic scale video for feedback and now notice how terrible my posture was I'd like to rectify that from now on.

So, would anyone offer a recommendation for a guitar chair or stool for someone quite tall (I'm almost 6 ft 3 inches) that is comfortable for long guitar sessions and won't break the bank?

That was a great question!

I use Secret Lab Chair that I took arms off and it's so easy to adjust the height of chair.
You can look it up.

Hi Tomo,

I got a stool now and got some positive feedback from family. They walked down as I was playing it and said oh you sit so straight, you look like a guitarist on the internet. They did mean I had good form and posture.

Thanks for the advice but boy is it tiring to sit so straight all the time! Need to workout more!

Oh! Lovely! I am so happy to hear that.

I have been noticing when I am doing my fast walk... I see many people are running... some of them got a bad posture!
I almost want to tell them what I am seeing!

So I just now saw your post and thought I’d share my experience and make a recommendation. I actually decided to go in the direction of the secret lab gaming chair which I purchased and promptly returned. For me it was way too large from my practice area. I understand why Tomo doesn’t use the back, which I tried to do myself, you know, being the older dude and such. What I found was that the “wings” on the sides interfered with the Guitars I normally play.
I’ve been very happy with the Roc n Soc drum throne that includes a backrest and a hydraulic lift feature. The lift adjustment will not be an issue for your height.
However, it doesn’t have a footrest like the one that you shared. Due to the adjustability not being an issue I don’t miss that feature. Sometimes I use a footrest. happy hunting!

Great example. There is no best or correct! Each one has something own thing.
My Secret Lab chair. I only use 1/3 of area! My cat Dexter is using more space!

No worries Ken! Thanks for the reply. I did end up getting the K and M Performance Stool and it is very sturdy and the seat and foot rest are adjustable. I will be getting the back rest piece but it sure is well made!
