I usually practice at around 50-60 bpm but after last night live class slowed it down to 40 as tomo suggested. Its much harder to do slowly!

You time feel is good!
But a few things are not right for this exercise so this tempo is too fast for you.
Counting a little wrong. One is silence... so when you say one ... no metronome sound.
1) Swing arm distance... not wide enough.
2) Down beat is not long enough. (A little more!)
3) Up stroke... if you miss once.... not good! You should stop and go back to beginning.
4) Your upper body is not moving (not grooving) So make sure your body is moving so that we can feel your tempo by just watching you without the sound.
5) Bb7 (R b7 M3) Be careful not to press the 5th string with your 2nd finger (2nd finger for muting)
To understand these details ... only when you record yourself like this.
40 (2&4) is 80 per beat so. I would go.... (Every beat) 80, 75, 70, 65, 60, 55, 50)
This way you can accomplish for this exercise purpose.
That's why I still practice at 50 per beat.
Good job!

Thanks for the feedback tomo i will work on all these things. I really enjoy this exercise and it has really made a huge difference to my rhythm and strumming . Im beginning to start grasping what you mean when you say “guitar is very deep” . Before your guitar wisdom strumming was just strumming but now i can see how there are so many details & elements to these foundational skills, many of which ive been completely unaware of. Loving guitar wisdom
You're very welcome! This exercise is so effective! So happy to hear that! I love this exercise so much! Yes! Guitar is so deep!
Great job! Now you see the differences and you will enjoy more! Thank you so much!
