For muting is all by left hand so make sure you don't want to mute by your right hand.
That riff in the beginning for Im chord... Triad D & E. You don't want to play that right before IVm chord.
Chord form and fingering. For 6th string rood. Good! For 5th string root... your first finger is covering too much!
Your first finger tip can touch the 6th string for muting. But you should not press 6th string. Very important.
Same as bVIMaj7 & V7 chord. V7 chord you can play other form too. X 9 8 9 7 X = X R M3 b7 R X
This funky groove sound easy but it's pretty difficult so please listen to my lesson a little more.
