Hi Tomo,
About a year ago, I found myself stuck in a rut with my guitar playing, feeling frustrated and unsure of how to break through. That led me to pick up the Berklee Press William Leavitt Method Book in hopes of getting back on track. Around the same time, I was also trying to learn a few John Mayer songs, whose playing I deeply admire—but I was hitting roadblocks with that, too.
Out of curiosity (and a bit of desperation), I searched "Help with Leavitt Method Book," and one of your videos popped up: "What I Taught John Mayer at Berklee School of Music." That immediately caught my attention! When I visited the Tomo Fujita Guitar Wisdom website, I couldn’t believe my eyes—you were playing a Strat like mine, using the same Fender amp, and even had the same little ant-playing-guitar figure that I have at home! Needless to say, I signed up right away.
The section on sight-reading with the Leavitt book has been invaluable, far exceeding my expectations. In addition, I've worked through the theory section, fretboard mastery, fretboard harmony, and now attempting the blues section. Gaining a deeper respect for the richness of content in each video—and understanding the time and focus needed to truly master each section—I’m hoping to revisit many of the lessons with a fresh perspective.
Your dedication, commitment to excellence, and genuine love for teaching shine through in every lesson, and I’m incredibly grateful for it. Thank you for all that you do!
