Starting to get into a practice routine.
Read my notes;-
Ascending, Lighten fingers after playing note, Use finger tips, Little finger noise-push away, Thumb-very light, moving & keep in cntr
Descending, Roll hand when lifting fingers off, Thumb-keep in place for first note then move & keep in cntr, Use finger tips
Both, Muting with movement, Posture & movement.
When I start playing the first 4 notes (ascending & descending) I can't play without noise so keep starting again until all quiet. Then try up and down with as few mistakes as poss. Then add in dynamics, need to work out what I'm doing wrong here!!! Then work out what I have missed out which for me is usually posture and body movement and have a go at adding them in.
Then on to practice some pieces or Leavitt sight reading trying to keep in mind all the points above. I have to say it has made pieces easier to play and my thumb is quite the key to the improvement, its position and lightness.
I don't think I have made such quick progress ever, many thanks Tomo
Good job!
Once you hear noise, you can play much slower.
Good Posture is super important!
Make videos yourself often so you can see how your body is doing.
Great! Practice Leavitt book so you can apply this challenge to that book. Even 5 minutes a day will make a huge difference later.
A lot of people got "Thumb problem" deeply built in.
You're very welcome!
Thank you.
