So I’ve started applying the concepts from the November challenge into my regular practice routine ( scales, exercises, melodic cells) Wow!….I’m feeling like a different guitarist. I am applying mindfulness, relaxed pick grip, relaxed left hand pressure, playing closer to the fretboard for a warmer tone and lastly dynamics ( from regular volume right down to very quiet, the dynamics application alone forces a mindfulness that I’ve lost touch with but am slowly regaining) I must say the spillover from the challenge is real and transformative. Thank you Mr. Fujita, who would’ve thought such a simple exercise would have been such a crucial foundation. The name “Guitar Wisdom” resonates so much more with me now after this challenge. Keep the challenges coming!
Thank you John for sharing this with us!
So happy to hear all that. Thank you so much!
These points that you have learned.... you cannot learn from YouTube videos!
Now you know why?
I love this title " November Challenge Spillover"
"The 30 days November Challenge" is only 30 days thing (Most people think...)
But actually after 30 days, you are ready to learn guitar more proper way!
This is where.... used to be... only possible via in person private lessons.
But our November Challenge proved that it's working!
Please read all comments on those November Challenge threads: Weel 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4 and final assignment & contest thread! Many contestants videos.... so valuable way to learn every details.
You're very welcome! My pleasure! Thanks for all subscribes watching & doing & sharing these videos!
I hope more people understand true meaning of "Foundation"
Thank you.
Tomo
Yeah, I've noticed the effects as well. Pressing much more lightly on chords, chord changes are very quiet now and just see an improved finger dexterity and accuracy.
I've now incorporated this into my daily practice. Ascending on one day, descending the next and repeat.
The nuances in this exercise are a sight to behold!
Thanks for sharing your insights and progress :)
