Oh Kurt, I am so sorry to hear this bad news. I of course did not know Corker, but I can tell that he was super special. There are no good words that I can offer. But during this difficult time, keep his memories close, and over time they will become a source of joy and appreciation. I think the part that lives on after we leave is our love, and when you visit those memories, Corker's light will continue to shine on you.
Thank you so much Linda! You are a real ray of sunshine here! I'm distracting myself here at the forum if you haven't noticed :-). Funny I'm so chatty cause I've never even had a Facebook account! Social media to me means watching guitar lessons on YouTube. I guess I just like being around people like you and all our friends here.
I was so happy when I heard you are getting that lovely guitar.
Thanks again for thinking of me!
Very best always,
Kurt
Kurt we have all become kind of one big family here. And I don't think anyone would mind if you shared a pic of Corker here. I also saw that you called him Corkscrew, how did he come by that unusual name? I can only imagine!
Thanks Kurtis for sharing!
I use social media for my business but I don't really go to see social media myself.
I do more posting (entertain people) from social media. I don't rarely watch YouTube unless I discover old live video etc. Instagram is a great place to communicate people!
Thank you.
Tomo
Thank you Linda!
This place is my home and your home!
Please be comfortable! Glad you liked the Ibanez AZES31!
Just in case, I did set up that guitar with new strings! I spend about two hours setting up that guitar so you can enjoy without any issues.
Thank you.
Tomo
Tomo, I could tell that the strings were new, and the neck feels sleek and fast. Thank you for taking the time with that. It is a joy to play. I have a short clip to show off the Ibanez AZES31, would you prefer I post it here, or start a new thread? Or I can send you the link so you can make sure it's okay to post?
Linda! So happy to hear that.
It's a new guitar but I wanted to change the strings and put lemon oil on the fretboard. I wiped each frets.... tighten the tuners... so everything what I would to do on new guitar. My pleasure!
Great! No pressure but I would love to see that video! You can start your new thread! Why not?
Please post your video at our forum!
Looking forward to it!
Thank you.
Tomo
Hi Linda,
That's so nice Linda. I'd like to share him. Corkscrew "Corker" the Cat just looked like a Corker, whatever that is. He showed up one day as a kitten looking pretty rough. Here is a little shot of him relaxing and "deep listening" to nature. Can you feel the silence? I can.
Kurt
What a handsome boy! I can hear the silence. He looks like a guy who is completely comfortable being your cat.
Corker have a pair of beautiful eyes, Rough! His front paws are stretching comfortably , so pleasant !
My wife Lisa just reminded me that she had a premonition in a dream that an orange cat was sitting on our bar and its name was corkscrew! We were drinking winer that night, I thought that had something to do with it.
Kurt
Back to this great tune "Room 418". I hope this is ok to post. I just saw it and it blew my mind! This is how it is done! Tomo!
Wow!
Kurtis
Woohoo! Standing ovation! Job well done, Tomo!
Standing O!
Wow! I almost forget this video!
Thanks for reminding me Kurt!
PS, I think I have over 700 unlisted videos on my YouTube Channel.
Thank you.
Tomo
Thank you Ken!
Say Kurt, I’ve been wanting to ask you if you know of Joe Vinikow at archtop.com? He’s in Seattle. I’d love to visit his shop there someday. So many archtops, etc. I’ve bought/sold a few items thru him. Always helpful and fair.
Looking forward to checking this out later. I need no distractions
Thanks so much Linda!
Wow! Amazing performance. Those chords are so nice and incredible display of using dynamics to tell a great story.
Thanks so much Jeffrey!
I love this guitar by Orangewood. The Ava Mahogany Live!
Super easy to play!
A lot of open strings are using!
Thank you.
Tomo
Just in case....
We have this lesson at Guitar Wisdom!
That's why I use "Search" a lot!

Breaking Cat News:
Spring has sprung here at Schubidoo Castle!
I'd like you to meet Coltrane and Cassiopeia
"Cole" and "Cassie"
Just turned 5 months. They could not be sweeter. They love each other. Everyone is super-duper happy! My heart tells me Corker is happy too.
Kurt
https://youtube.com/shorts/O8Fc27rT5BE
Cassiopeia is a constellation and asterism in the northern sky named after the vain queen Cassiopeia, mother of Andromeda, in Greek mythology, who boasted about her unrivaled beauty. Cassiopeia is easily recognizable due to its distinctive 'W' shape, formed by five bright stars.
John William Coltrane (September 23, 1926 – July 17, 1967) was an American jazz saxophonist, bandleader and composer. He is among the most influential and acclaimed figures in the history of jazz and 20th-century music.

Kurt , I listen your music again , This is encouragement and beautiful music .
Thank You very much 李jiayang for encouraging all of us.
Isn't it amazing to have a teacher and friend that writes timeless melodies like Room 418?
I think it is funny when he said, "Oh, I was just talking to a student about a progression, and I wrote this."
Like -"it was no big deal. just cranking out another Mona Lisa while waiting for the water to boil." :-)
I have been deep listening to the Etude book CD tracks. Really helps me want to practice.
I'm really looking forward to more ear training. What a gift if someday we can really hear and be able to play what we hear.
I'm still doing the chromatic scale with a plugged in acoustic every morning, then triads, method book and R37 groove.
Time is flying. Changes everywhere. The sweet kittens are a true blessing. Corker is a hard act to follow.
So happy we are all on our journey, moving and growing together as Spring unfolds.
Kurt
Thanks so much Kurt!
One of my students ... trying to learn one difficult song by Pepapepe (Japanese Acoustic Duo)
So I just wrote my own (inspired by that song) For me so easy to imitate music.
Thank you.
Tomo
Kurt, thank you for your thoughts of spring time!
James Taylor sings "The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time".
I love how James purposely titled that great song, "Secret O' Life".
If I ever fill out Tomo's questionnaire, I will have a hard time leaving JT off of it.
Kurt
You guys make this world a better place! Guitar, music, connection; it's all a gift!
Missed this one before. Excellent performance. Congrats.
These day my grandmother went to heaven , Thank you for your music , Kurt , help me overcome my sadness ❤️
Oh no 李jiayang. I am deeply, truly sorry for your loss.
We are here for you.
I know she is an angel now and watching over you and your parents and everyone. I bet she was totally amazing. Did she teach your Dad about classical music?
You really helped me when I was hurting. You told me how our loved ones are always with us, beating in our hearts. It made me feel better.
It's true. I can feel it. I never knew either of my grandmothers but wish I did.
We keep going and do our best to honor the memories of our loved ones. We never forget.
I noticed the other day that when I think of Corkscrew I can smile a little, instead of just starting to cry.
Thank you for sharing with us 李jiayang.
Kurt
