I Love all the content in Guitar Wisdom, but I find it all so difficult to take in and the tempo of the lessons is to quick, I'm a old boy and the brain dose not work as quickly as it use to, but I'll stick at it.
Same feelings (sometimes). Some lessons take me days, others weeks or more. But it is really rewarding. Learn to walk before run. If you are struggling with a lesson ask for feedback or post a video so Tomo and the community can help you.
Hi Mr M,
I would highly suggest that you take notes of the lesson and review them many times. Watch the video many times, too. Rinse and repeat.
Thanks so much for sharing.
We are working on remaking all Essential theory lessons and each has only one topic and very simple and very slow pace.
Please list up all those lesson numbers. I will check them.
Don't worry! I will keep making remake videos to make them slower and better.
Thank you.
Tomo
Thanks Christian for sharing too!
Definitely each lesson will take a days or a few weeks!
But once you master that lesson then you are bringing up yourself to next level.
Any lessons that you feel too much contents or too fast, please let us know.
Let us knows those lesson names and lesson numbers.
Thank you.
Tomo
Thank you Michael!
Great suggestion! Take notes! Great habit!
Today I taught my new students at Berklee.
Just in case I asked them to play C Major scale on 2nd string then I asked them play other scales on 2nd string. Guess what? Many of them pressed those notes so hard! Mustang technique was okay... they really surprised how difficult to play simple thing.
And I asked to play C Major triad in vertical motion... thumb position, duration of notes, palm muting.... Then said "Yes I can play" first then we found out "No!" So I taught then be honest about own playing... not just guessing or saying.. "Kind of... sort of..."
So simple Major scale on one string approach & triad inversions with clean technique are super important for anyone! I told them to practice & review these everyday and once you can play them cleanly... must stop practicing! (All set!) Especially triad arpeggios & 7th chord arpeggios. Once you can play them, must stop practicing! You don't want to memorize them!
Thank you.
Tomo
