I'm realizing why my strap is important to me. I have a hard time putting any guitar on my right leg anymore. Even bigger acoustics. I want to have my guitar strapped up high, kind of in my middle and my back straight. If I'm sitting, I still want my strap. If no strap and sitting, I'd probably cross my legs, right over left, and have it on my right side. If not crossing my leg, I'd want a little something to put my left foot on to raise my leg. With my legs spread a little I can get a nice full strum and keep my posture. My back feels better.
Thanks again for answering my request! Now I'm going back to my Blue Monk studies. Need to see your fingering for the main melody someday. Love the cool Blues etude that is in that lesson.

I liked the history lesson of this video. Very cool comparison to that nice little Gibson acoustic, a real beauty (: Was admiring a modern fender strat ultra II yesterday, all kinds of new flowing contours to the body to increase comfort and reach. Neck radius 10" to 12th fret shifting to a 11" radius beyond that. Was showing my babes and explaining why I thought this guitar was so comfortable. I played it with thru an old clean am, no bass, treble way up, guitar volume 7.. Played a 12 bar R37, flipped the switch to neck position threw down a Blue Monk melody Sounded amazing! She said, "do you want it? I buy it for you" I was speechless, aaahh what? And she did!! I guess I am completely sold on the fender strat, and am built for comfort and not for speed. Am smiling from ear to ear. I was at the store to buy a new 5way switch for my squire and walked out with a dream guitar!! I guess that is how it happens. Much love, - johno

Hi Ken, Thank you (: Yes video for sure, I was thinking the same thing after sharing that story. I had to share my excitement tho. Blue Monk is a good one, I hear so much in it. The elements are all in a good learning place for me, no tabs or scales, yet everything else is my focus, it is fun to play. I have been listening to the vinyl a few times a week, deep listening. I need etude to fill it in solo like in between 12bars. Tomo's demonstration on the evolution of the fender was so cool, I always wondered. Now it makes sense, such a comfortable style. Hi Tomo, Yes, for sure more gear video/history lessons are interesting. I always like your YouTube channel unboxing (: Neck radius is another topic. Good to understand and something to pay attention too because it seems there are so many guitar instrument styles good and no so great. Happy to hear Ibenenez is taking your advice and listening, then they want more.. Smart move on their part. I will be looking out for another fantastic model you influence in creativity. This history video on shape is all new to me. Just one more guitar!! I am good for a while. :) more practice in the meantime, Blue Monk, etude, looper, Metronome, hands full. - johno

I love guitars, amps, effects... to learn & understand them for myself and for my students.
Plus I love practicing a few different guitars all the times so I don't get to used to play same guitar, same feel. This way I can adjust my playing skill to any guitars.

It's always a pleasure hearing about nuances of tools, like ergonomics, from the perspective of a professional. Seeing a bit of your collection is also very inspiring!

Finding a comfortable guitar was very much so a difficult thing for me when I was looking for my first a few months back. I had back surgery a while before restarting my guitar journey, and the strict 10lb limit for lifting definitely made finding something that I could play standing up a challenge.

I ended up finding a nice light Squier mustang that fits the bill, but when I was looking, I wasnt thinking about a lot of the important things you brought up in the video! I feel like I got very lucky, as a thicker or heavier model would likely have made things much harder than they need to be for me. Again, very appreciative of the outlook and the smaller details of what the shapes do for playing experience.

Excited to see more in the future, especially the models you plan on presenting!

P.S. - Your take on the musicmaster shape made me look at my mustang and smile. And your Ibanez AZ is such a lovely red!
