Thanks Tomo for this review. I realize now why so many pro players seem to gravitate towards the Strat style guitar. It was interesting how it aligned well with your old LG Gibson.
Out of curiosity, you didn’t pull out a Tele, do you have any thoughts regarding its shape?
A few years ago, I purchased an old Gibson L7 from archtop.com (sorry Kurt…look the other way hehe). Anyway, it’s along the lines of your R37 practice archtop (evidence that you practice what you preach!). Mine was in a once famous Japanese collection by the name of Tsumura, have you heard of this collection? Lovely old guitar that I’ve had a bit of work done on. Added a bartolini pickup (no drilling) and sounds great. Maybe I’ll use it for swing groove now!
I think I need to rotate my guitars into my practice schedule more! Thanks for sharing so many insights with us Tomo!
Wow Ken. That sounds like quite a guitar! Tsumura. I think of one of those old, cool Samurai paintings.
Nice not to have to drill into "art" like that.
Kurt
Thank you Ken!
Tele is same as Stratocaster! Just different shape but that point is same!
That's why I did not do.
You have a Gibson L7?
Prefect guitar for chromatic exercise & R 3 7 swing groove!
Thank you.
Tomo
Yes Tomo, she's an old gal, 1937 but with flat wounds which is why I've been using a different guitar for R37 with round wounds.
I see... Thank you Ken!
