Hi Tomo,

Do you have a guitar strap recommendation? I have a PRS SE Standard and the strap I bought with it I am finding is starting to slip on my shoulder, so the neck doesn't stay up when I play. I don't want to be holding my guitar up too much and be uncomfortable. Thank you so much!

Hi Tim,

D'Addario has a great straps. I use very light leather strap from Japan. I cannot recommend easily because it's very expensive.

Basically you don't want to use a cheaper strap.
Guitar strap is very important part of your playing.

My wife Beth gave me a very special strap from UK.

Love these kinds of threads. Thanks for bringing it up. Tomo and others will help!
I use all kinds of straps. Of course, the designs, color and how it looks is most important :-)
I like to wear it pretty high so it can't be too long. I like some Ernie Ball straps. Easy to adjust. Some straps come with their own strap lock. I like those. Sometimes you really need to lock it down depending on where the strap knobs are. If I have to tie it around the nut end the strap will be longer.

Hi Mr Woelfle!

I had the same issue with the first few straps I had, where they were a tad too long, even when fully shortened.

Two straps solved the issue, one being the fender vintage tweed strap and the other being a strap from Mother Mary.

The fender strap I purchased through amazon:

and the Mother Mary strap I purchased on their website.

For the money, the Fender strap is way more than fine and gets plenty short for standing up and keeping the right height on the instrument. The Mother Mary strap is also very nice, (very pretty!) and is the shortest strap I've tried so far when fully shortened. I haven't tried any leather straps yet, but I hear wonderful things about how well they handle things like neck dive and keeping the neck steady when your body moves around.

I think either would help a lot. Whatever you decide on, I hope it works out for you!

I have that Fender strap, but the one with strap locks. Search Amazon "Fender Quickgrip Secure Guitar Strap, 2in, Vintage Tweed".
I use it on my 2018 Olive Drab Green ES-339 in "VOS FINISH." The strap lock is just below the neck on the back.
"VOS" means they don't buff it to a glossy finish. You can do that if you want though. Mine is drab :-)

"VOS". means Very Old Sandpaper. Not Vintage Old Stock.

I wish I had seen this when getting straps! It apparently gets even shorter than the one I linked. Included locks are awesome too!

I googled a picture of that model and its quite the looker! Gibson semi hollows have quite a regality to them. It must be very fun to play!

The ES 339 looks and plays great and is really light which I want. Of all my guitars, it might go out of tune the easiest. Any change in temperature and it responds. I'm glad to have it. My ES 347 never goes out of tune somehow. Maybe those piano tuners.
Back to straps-. There are some really heavy ones out there. I've got a bunch in my drawer of misfit guitar accessories.

If you keep buying guitars, you'll have lots of straps eventually. Would be funny if you had a bunch of unique straps and then tried to find guitars that should go with them.
