How do you find Drop 2 voicing chords on the neck?

Hi everyone. Good morning (btw I'm in Thailand)

I just watched FC Drop 2 Voicings - 7th Chord Inversions.
I understand it,but I'm curious how to find it.
I guess I need to know the ingredients of A7 like A C# E G R M3 5 b7 and find
one of those at 1st strings?

i like to play these find chord games good to learn scale degree relations. i find these as practical voicings regarding fingering. so, you start by normal stacked 3rds. you find that it would require 2 notes on the same string or the stretch is very hard and impractical. fingering problem is solved once you pull up the 3rd note an octave lower placing it such that it is more practical. example, 1 on the 5th string, then you have 3 a string and fret below. 5 is a further string and 2 frets below, and b7 is 3 frets higher then 5. you cant play 2 notes on one string for a chord so you move the 5. where, an octave lower such that it is on same fret as 1 on 6th string. best to do without looking at pdf or paper. you learn so much this way. Repeat with 3 5 b7 1, 5 b7 1 3, b7 1 3 5. The simples way to search to me is take first 2 of these and the 3rd and 4th could be on the same string so you take the 3rd note and find it an octave lower.

if you know your scale degrees and their relations you will find them all. check diagrams afterwords, you will find them all by yourself. start on strings 5, 4, 3 because if you start on 6th thete is no string to place the note you are "dropping" an octave lower.

Just like this... everything in lesson videos.
So you don't need to build by your own.
Learn them super slowly!

If you only watch 1-2 times, not enough to understand it.
Please watch 4-5 times.

Very simple!
R 3 5 7 .... bring 2nd note up (Even we call Drop 2)
R 5 7 3

Slowly learn these notes, intervals etc.

Hi Arty,

The AI post above is overly complicated, and some of it is just wrong! Look at the wrong notes that the bot places on the 1st String!

I recommend that you learn the notes on the fretboard, so that there will not be any mystery in finding the notes of Drop-2 chords. You can do this by following the lessons in the Essential Theory section and the Triads sections. In the Essential Theory section, learn scales by the one-string, one-finger method. Learn triads, including spread-voiced triads, all over the fretboard. And remember that learning scales and triads means learning the notes, not just the shapes!
