Hi professor and guitar wisdom members.
1) Can you suggest how to approach ear training intervals i try sing nto -re , nto -mi.... etc and i do this for a while now and when i sing them in order i can hear them and sing them i also can identify some scale degrees! I sing nto-re-nto mi-re-nto , fa-mi-nto, sol-mi-nto,(or sol-la-ti-nto) , la-ti-nto,ti-nto and its an excellent exercise i can feel the tension and where the note want to resolve i highly recommend it! The thing that i can't do so good is to sing nto-fa for example if i don't sing the sequence (nto-re-mi-fa!) Do you recommend to try to play two intervals only for a day and try to rest and sing them back or maybe learn and internalise melodies from songs to remember the intervals! This is a popular method!
The other question is that when i sing fretboard without memorization in other scale than C should I sing the 1 us nto or should i sing the exact note!
Thank you very for everything professor guitar wisdom give me so much joy every day!
Thank you for asking!

You can try to sing (after you hear C triad or C root)
1) Sing Do Mi So
2) Sing Fa, La
3) Sing Re, Ti
Then do same thing over different keys.
1) Do same thing with A root
2) Do same thing with Eb root.
Thank you.
Tomo
Thats what i walked away with Tomo!
What an eye-opener/the famous “Ah ha moment”!!! So kool.
I took you advice and highly recommend people who are struggling with Triads; specifically what to do with the memorized shapes in two notes like Gmaj Am.
It took a while but let me try my best to summarize. Again, IF YOU ARE still STRUGGLING with TRIADS then hear me out.
I know how I learn is different from how you learn, or she learns, etc. I am merely reintroducing what Tomo mentioned and really resonates with me. DONT MEMORIZE IT UNDERSTAND IT!
So this stuff below is merely how to find your triads using a reference system that uses knowledge vs memorization.
Take strings 3+2+1 and the goal is to make an Amaj and Am triad in all three voicings/inversions.
A is on the G-string 2nd Fret - This is our root
C# is on the B-string 3rd Fret - This is our 3rd
E which is the E-string open - This is our P5
Minor just flatten your 3rd by moving it down a 1/2 step.
So that is what I'm using to follow my triads. Intervals - so easy if you know the distances no matter what string you are on.
Maybe this might reach someone struggling with Triads.
Thank you so much Michael!
Tomo
