I played Do Re Mi from each chord & played two triad inversions.
Then I play as a performance (not think too much about theory) so I was playing Major scale, minor scale, minor pentatonic, Major pentatonic but only I picked 2-3, maybe 4 notes from these scales and carefully not think about any shapes. Good catch! I was imagining B7 chord right before Em7 so I played Diminished arpeggio over B7 chord which is M3 5 b7 b9. A little bit classical & jazz sound. That was a little out side of 1 5 6m 4... V of VIm...

So question is can you transcribe it?
If answer is no.. then you need to learn more scales on one string & triad inversions, and Ear Training more. So you can lift these notes up and analyze them.

To build a solo like this, learn more harmony, chords!
If I could not hear imaginary B7 there, then I could not play that phrase.

First you need to review all material deeply for 2-3 weeks with your patient.

Then this case, try learning how to use a harmonic minor scale on V chord.
I played B Mixolydian b9 b13 scale on B7 that I imagined. (Resolve to E-7)
That's where I played M3 5 b7 b9 for B7. (From E Harmonic minor)

2-3 weeks? I must be doing something wrong haha, I've been studying deeply for months and months. But Tomo's advice is best. Please study it deeply for as long as you need to. Like Zen don't worry about what is next, worry about what is in front of you. Maybe it's not time to do improv just yet.

But from my experiences Harris is that it's a slow and gradual process. I would suggest learning scales (one string, and in boxes where needed), triads and arpeggios. Once you have it learned those things deeply not just memorizing shapes then start with one string solos, then add in two strings, then maybe do two strings but make sure you skip strings so you don't just run up and down a scale, start to add in diatonic triads, maybe start to hit chord tones like R, 3, 5, 7th intervals, start with something simple like quarter notes, then move to others to add rhythmic complexity, study some of your favourite solos and see how they go and how you could emulate them and extend, if you are in the key of Em work on the Em scale or chord tones, then maybe start to play the changes, work on motifs that can be repeated in different places on the next, work on motifs and adding different things to the end of things, also you can then do some call and response. Then maybe start to play with chord extensions and/or other ways to add harmonic complexity with 9ths or diminished or chromatic runs. You could also have a melody in your head and try to make that come true etc. etc.

So much complexity to lead and improv. Just some things I've picked up along the way. By no means have I mastered any of these things but these are some areas you can start to look at slowly.
