I played around Dsus2, D, Dsus4, D5( 5 with pinky on 5th fret thinnest string). And since we are working on triads a lot i thought, these same top notes are in Em, F#m, G maj, A maj triads played on thinnest 3 strings (with or without D note in the bass). All the time we are in D major scale. Had some fun exploring this on the guitar. If i make any sense at all with this?
Thank you for starting this thread Slivije.
You can apply Sus2 & Sus2 on any Major triad.
Simple to replace 2 or 4 with 3rd note.
Thank you.
Thank you Tomo. I know how to get sus2 and sus4 by re-fingering 2 and 4 instead of 3. What amused me was that by going Dsus2, D, Dsus4 in open position there is 2, 3, 4 (of D) movement in the top note. By playing Em triad (b3 5 1 of E) , F#m triad (b3 5 1 of F#) , G major triad (3 5 1 of G) there is that same 2,3,4 (of D) movement in top note, but also in parallel 6, 7, 1 movement (of D) on 2nd string, and 4, 5, 6 (of D) movement on 3rd string. so instead of only top note moving through D major scale notes, we get diatonic movement of notes on all 3 strings through triads. Same top note through different chords but still from D major scale.
Soon you'll be voice leading with talk like that :)
You're very welcome!
I am still practicing Major & minor!
Thanks for sharing your ideas.
