Hello i am pleased to be able to ask you my question. I am using a fixed Soflège while studying the scales in the music theory section. It has helped me alot with remembering the note names. Is this good for longgevity? Thanks, hug from Fippi :D
Hi Fillip,
If by fixed you intend that any of the 12 major scales’ starting pitch is “Do”, then yes to your question about longevity.
I’ve found it helpful as well when one gets into minor this way: Mi = Me (minor 3rd), La > Le, Ti > Te.
Not sure what solfège does for augmented 5th though, so until I know, I continue to call it ‘So’ .
Thank you Ken!!
