Hi friends! I invite you to use this space to share your thoughts on the marvelous song "Same Old Blues" by Freddie King.
There's another thread dedicated to figuring out the chords, which you can find here: https://tomovhxtv.vhx.tv/forums/general/72835-same-old-blues-freddie-king-non-12bars-blues.
If you’re like me and haven’t gotten to that yet (working on "lifting up chords"), I’d love to hear what you’ve noticed and what you’re struggling with. Personally, I find it challenging to separate the different parts of the music. I often focus on one instrument and then get distracted by another.
I’ve been listening to this song every day on repeat, and each time I notice something new. There is so much emotion and nuance packed into such a simple form. One thing I know for sure is that this song makes my heart sink, but in the best way possible.
What are you hearing in Same Old Blues?
We’re in the same boat. I’ve been working on transcribing some of Tomo’s song demos (Blue monk, Bb blues etude). I find it much easier hear when it’s solo guitar. I have great difficulty hearing through the “noise” of all of the other instruments.
I can do it if I work hard - Tomo
Good job Matt!
Thank you.
