Hello guys,
Thank you for all the kind recommendations about Japan. I have had the time of my life here. My favorite city was Kyoto for its magical views and culture. The people were kind there and it was a very restorative part of the trip.
My favorite memories were made in Tokyo, in a music bar known as “Rosinante”. It is an open mic bar with very cool and talented musicians. I'll leave a map link below. Even though we could not speak together, we understood through music. It was awesome! I also visited the Fender store there which was incredible. I was luckily able to play a Jimi Hendrix and a Stevie Ray Vaughn guitar replica.
We played many songs for two nights, but I will leave a link to my favorite one we made below in case you would like to hear it. (you can use the timestamp in comments to skip to the start of the song, or skip to 4:50)
Thank you, Japan! I will come back next year.

Thanks so much for sharing your Japan trip!
I am from Kyoto Japan. So glad to hear that you went to Kyoto!
Very special place!
That jam in Tokyo is so awesome! Now you know... that type of experience can really teach a great lesson! Learn that chord progression & learn Autumn Leaves (Jazz Standard section!)
You made good friends & made great memories!
So happy to hear that!
Tomo
Thank you, Tomo. Yes, it was an amazing experience.
I was learning Autumn Leaves last night! I will be working on Jazz standard lessons to improve for moments like the ones I experienced in Japan. Thankfully, what I knew of theory and minor pentatonic scale carried me through most of the jams. I'll work on improving for next time.
Thank you.
You're very welcome!
Good job!
This solo section is ( I think...)
GMa7 GMaj7 F#7 F#7
E-7 A7 (13,b9) DMaj7 GMaj7
C#-7(b5) F#7(b13 or b9) B-7 B7.... etc
Thank you.
Tomo
