Hi Tomo:
Random question!
Feel free to not to answer…
I have another son who is gifted on piano but hasn’t taken any lessons. He learns from YouTube and picks up complicated songs quickly like Clocks from Coldplay so he definitely has an unusual ability to learn it with ease.
Do you know of any similar models / instructors for piano that have a monthly subscription like Guitar Wisdom?
Any recommendations?
Thank you as always.
Chris
Thanks Chris for asking this.
I don't know who teaches similar to what I do.
But you can look for a great piano teacher who can understand to reach self-taught players. Not easy to teach but someone can do without pushing common sense & common knowledges.
Or you can hire any great pianist to talk with your son or someone can calmly listen what your son is doing... This is "Life lesson" You can hire that person to just talk with your son. I highly recommend this! So your son will open more about choices.
YouTube videos is 50% good / 50% Not great... because anybody can be teachers and someone is so great at talking!
Definitely you should invest your son's talent!
PS, You cannot teach your own son! Don't tell him what to do. It will not work 100%
Thank you.
Tomo
Thanks Tomo!
Agree with you on the 50/50. Agree with you 100% I can't teach him 😂 I will look for someone capable. Thanks!
Chris
You're very welcome!
As long as YouTube is available... they will produce 50/50 good and bad!
That's why when people took wrong direction.... those guys will be stuck at same playing skill level for many years to come! That's how gear company can sell their musical instruments more!
Parents can not teach own kids! That's why all Berklee teachers... they hire someone outside of family! Not need to be formal lessons. Just giving ideas outside of comfort zone.
