Greetings Tomo & Forum!
Here's the Duet in Bb from the method book. As I work on this I feel more dynamics could be used. Hand was a bit cranky today, so did the best I could picking. Didn't want to post the video of the rhythm part to make this too long, but felt comfortable with it. I used the Gibson HRF for the rhythm part.
I'm working on all the material leading up to this page, but felt this was more interesting than a video of the other stuff. I continue to work on all of it.
Thanks for the listen!
Thank you Ken for sharing this video!
Love your rhythm guitar part.
A few things you can watch out.
That melody part.
1) Move your body a little more so I can feel music through your motion!
2) Use less pressure from your left hand.
3) Pick softer. (Your volume is too comfortable! Set a little louder so you just can pick that much volume from your picking. Picking volume is a little too loud for picking technique.
Great hardtail Stratocaster!
Good job Ken!

Thanks Tomo! Body movement, more amp volume to encourage softer use of the pick, lighter left hand. All good suggestions to help me improve, Thank you!🙏
You're very welcome!
When I teach my Berklee students, we watch student video together.
1st time without the sound! Then I want to feel "Music" from body motion...
Your shoulder, your body movement....
Softer picking! Just use normal picking and softer picking.
If you have 4 notes... which picking volume for each note?
Relaxed left hand & thumb position.
Yes! If you change these parts, then you will improve!
Tomo
Thanks Tomo! I like the fact that you watch without listening to observe groove in body movement, I will definitely do this. Soft picking, lighter left hand pressure, dynamics!
I’ve only used the Strat for foundation practice , now in performance I need to refine things.
You're very welcome!
Great plan!
Use more for practicing melody, phrasing too. More effective than Gibson, jazz guitar...
