Hi tomo
I practiced rhythm a lot, but I don't feel I am improving these days. I used 生きたグルーブがギターで弾ける本 and 耳と感性でギターが弾ける本 as a textbook. I will post my playing video, so I wonder if you could give me some advice!!
Hey Takano, that's awesome.
Don't worry you got it, we can feel it, sometime you can feel the progress you make and sometime you don't.
Keep practicing and enjoy playing, it will come naturally and you'll see the difference listening your past recordings. It can be days, weeks, month wathever but i assure you that you will be surprise by yourself.
You have good rythme, clean sound, many singers woud be happy to play with you already, don't forget that.
Keep it up.
Best regards.
Thank you Junichiro for sharing this video.
Sounds great! Please post something from Guitar Wisdom lesson.
So I can comment more.
Please tell me what you have been practicing and which part you felt that you are not improving?
You can play a little slow, use more dynamic if you would like...
Play simple is great way to improve your playing too.
Let me know which lesson from Guitar Wisdom you have been practicing?
1) Dynamics
2) Less pressure from your left hand
3) Intonation
4) Play simple & slow
Thank you.
Tomo
So far, I’ve worked on the Fretboard Mastery Triads and Spread Voiced Triads series, and also some one-off lessons on dominant 7 and major 7 voicings. I’ve done just a little bit of the Sight Reading series (been kinda slacking on that 😅), and I’ve watched things like RT3, 7 Swing, etc.
The areas I feel like I haven’t really improved much in are rhythm, improvisation, and the nuances in my right-hand technique. For improv, I’ve been listening to B.B. King records daily and breaking them down using triads, but lately it’s starting to feel a bit repetitive.
While writing this, I realized I might be stuck in a loop—just repeating things I already know how to do. That might be holding me back.
Thanks, Gabi!!
Ever since I started playing guitar, I’ve been working on my rhythm a lot. Sometimes I feel like I’m improving, but most of the time I get frustrated because the effort I put in doesn’t always match the results.
It’s really hard to notice your own growth, so hearing a comment like that means a lot to me!!
Thank you so much!!
