Hi everyone!
hope everyone has been enjoying practice! i just watched et04 dorian scale and loved it. I will now absorb it and learn the notes of the scale in each of the strings as demostrated by Tomo!
should i practice this scale for the next few weeks before moving on to other scales? I’m curious about how to approach practicing scales to build a solid foundation, especially since my goal is to play stuff like Masayoshi Takanaka, Soejima neo soul, and some blues. Should I focus on mastering one scale at a time or gradually explore multiple scales? from previous talks here i know pentatonic scale is relevant for neo soul and jazz. Any advice would be awesome—thanks!
Thank you Thiago!
Please stay on one topic as long as you need!
Definitely I will spend a few weeks on Dorian topic.
How about 2-3 weeks and think about how much you gain?
Then go to next topic.
Okay... Like Masayoshi Takanaka or Toshiki Soejima...
They just want to be better.... so they didn't care how long to take!
As much as they needed, they have worked same thing slowly patiently!
Basically you will become a patient person through these lessons.
My honest suggestion is just don't worry how long to take.
Many things I don't know... how long...how many weeks....
Definitely you want to master Major Scale, Triads, 7th chords...
Learn any songs that you like... from Takanaka!
Thank you.
Tomo
will do, Tomo! Guitar has taught me so much already. I have never learned an instrument and in my family we dont have musicians so this is a whole new world for me. Thank you for teaching guitar in a philosophical way. Will keep on practicing!
Thank you,
Nicolas
So great to hear that! Yes! Guitar taught me to be humble and patient!
So happy to hear that! Please enjoy more and more!
You're very welcome! Thank you so much!
