I'm currently practicing fundamental exercises every day, from chromatic scales to Bb7 blues chords.
However, I'd like to ask you how to create a heavy metal chugging sound, as I’ll be playing that style of music this coming August.
I’ve watched several videos on YouTube, and some people suggest placing the palm of the right hand near the bridge to mute the strings.
I read that you used to play in a heavy metal band early in your career, so I’d really appreciate your advice.
Could you please tell me how I should play to achieve that sound?
Thank you very much!
Thanks you for sharing. Chromatic scale is great for your lefthand movement and picking technique. R 3 7 groove is great for learning simple chord sounds & chord progression (great for soloing later) and left hand muting technique.
I am not 100% sure what type of sound that you are looking for.
Honestly I don't play heavy metal style. You are talking about bridge muting fat tone?
That case you can apply your picking position and how to 1/2 mute those notes at the bridge.
Thank you.
