Been enjoying some coffee and diminished arpeggios this morning. Charlie Christian likes this sound and BB King
Thank you Tomo
So happy to hear that!
Thanks for watching!
Tomo
I like the "coffee and diminished arpeggios" routine.
Morning is best, the ears are fresh.
Very well explained and colorful phrases. I hear these in a few of the others lessons. I really hear some jazzy foundation here. The stratigic mixing of harmonic minor with this diminished 7th arpegios will be fun to piece together. Much practice, yet I hear these sounds I have been in search of with other TFGW lessons and how do I get there in theory, this one drives it home. Another piece of sweet guitar treat!! I think it is the combination of b6 and a few other scale types. Great direction Tomo!! Thank you, - johno
Thank you Johno for your comment on this subject.
So much fun! A quick jazz sound by this approach.
My pleasure! Thank you.
Tomo
Agree with your comments, John. Great fun playing this. The challenge for me seems to be getting that flat five to play nicely with others. One can't just dump it in there at random, it requires some creativeness to get it to sound right.
Yes, for sure Linda, very challenging and I dig these recent ET lessons, very much theory. Being a stuck pentatonic guy, I am starting to see a way out. Mostly studying the interval and degree single finger approach thinking out of the box. Blue Monk is one, then the Bb jazz blues lesson has a phrase over the Edim7 throwing in a b5 and bb7.

Then listening to more jazz records besides Blue Monk, Charlie Parker very vintage sessions at the Savoy 'Donna Lee'. One can hear these tensions with diminished. Charlie Parker technics there
are amazing. Mainly listening and hearing in these ET lessons all sprinkled together. Intriguing for sure, more practice with this dimishes 7th on the list :) cheers - johno
Thank you Linda!
Thank you Johno!
Please enjoy blues & Jazz!
