Week 2 Day 2. I was happy to get about 40 mins of practice on these topics. I rewatched week 2 video.(not counted towards the 40 min playtime) I started with both chromatic scales today. The one from the challenge and the 12123212 version. I played single note scales Key C and Key of D on 2nd string both forward and backward. I have been practicing no looking, but today this was the first time I remembered to pick an object and look. I have been staring into space lol. The looking at an object really works. I have made a decision today to have my outline of notes in front of me. I tend to grab my guitar and start playing triad practice, rather than grabbing notes too. Tomorrow I will be more organized and go down the list.
I focused on tiny details such as thumb placement and how hard my fingers are pressing. I went through the triad in both keys. I placed close attention on how the second inversion triad to root inversion is a M3, Root inversion to first inversion to first inversion is m3, and first inversion to second inversion equals is 4th. I still kept overshoot the triads at times and then I decided to aim to think of what frets I was trying to hit. I would then say out loud root inversion fret 3 and 5 to first inversion minor third up to frets 7 and 8. This helped me visualize more clearly on what I am aiming for.
Another big thing for me today was to play the triad and sing no vibrato softly prior to plucking... but the thing I did that was new was play full triad and then see if I can hear/sing all degrees of triad that I am hearing. While I really, really wanted to combine triads today. I was not connecting to the frets fast enough or accurately enough to feel I could add in them together yet. Go slow, don't move to think too fast. Trust me it gets you in trouble.
Thank you Serena for Week 2 / Day 2.
Good job! If you have more time, definitely you can dadecate your time for deep practice time.
Watching / reviewing lesson video is so important and more important than actual practice time.
Good job! Chromatic Scale 1212. C & D Triad Inversions on 2nd string. One String approach.
No looking. Pick an Object to stare at (for focusing)
Organaization is always very important. I write my notes on my little note book. Today I will rewrite same thing but make it better. Thumb position is always moving! Left hand less pressure. Just like touching... not pressing. Root Position. Visualization... think same note at different string / different fret = different tone!
Good job! Sing softly and no vibrato. Singing Do Re Mi, Do Mi So... super important!

What an amazing day for you, Serena! I love hearing about the little tweaks you're making—like looking at an object, keeping your notes nearby, and paying attention to smaller details. Thank you for your detailed reflection. So many great choices in here. Go slow!
Will do.... Thank you Sammi.
Very Cool Tomo, I like that equation of guitar tone! :). That is tone = different string ÷ different fret; That is deluxe!! I have been applying the techniques from the chromatic challenge of holding top two strings in Rt. Palm mute while listening to each note, picking near top pick up, I like that tone difference at times, cheers :) - johno
Thank you Johno! So glad to hear that you like that idea!
That's why tabs and diagram are not that great! They diminish our dream! (same note in different string / different fret)
This way you can play chords or single note line and you can imagine your own playing!
You can feel everything! Palm mute... how you holding your pick! Soft touch, picking volume!
Yes! I can feel pickup change!
