I took private lessons from a local teacher for about 5 years.
I feel like I gained a better understanding of music theory but I didn’t feel that I became a better player so I stopped.
I actually feel that I have gained more from Guitar Wisdom than from my private lessons.
My question is…
Do you think it would be beneficial to find a different / better teacher to supplement Guitar Wisdom with private lessons?
I liked my old teacher as a person but I wasn’t seeing the progress that I wanted and private lessons are expensive!!
Would love to hear all of your opinions but especially Tomo’s.
Thanks!
Thank you Rich for sharing your experience.
I was so lucky to study with Takeshi Yamaguchi back in Kyoto Japan.
I asked many guitar players & some pro musicians in my home town. (I was looking for Jazz guitar teacher) so everyone recommended to study with Takeshi Yamaguchi.
Thank you for sharing your experience at Guitar Wisdom.
I am so happy to hear that!
Here is a few problems.
- Anyone can teach guitar
- To teach guitar, no need to have any license.
- Very important to search "A great teacher" in your area.
You need to study with a guitar teacher who can really perform live music.
You need to audition your guitar teacher. (Search or switch)
You can study with anyone who you are interested.... you can email that person for zoom lessons!
Currently I don't take any new zoom lesson students but I teach only a few students via zoom lessons. Those guys are studying at Guitar Wisdom for more than two years.
My rate is $300USD for 50 minutes lesson.
If something is not working then you need to change!
As if you are still driving a car that it stops very often with no reason!
