4) No need to memorize anything! Be familiar with things with slow pace.

Do all much slower. Don’t decide how long.
Do it deeply until you feel comfortable to understand in details.

I was getting too impatient about improving. I’ll go through the Essential series little by little, focusing on mastering it rather than just memorizing. Since moving to the city, I’ve been seeing many players better than me and got anxious, so I haven’t been enjoying practice lately. I’m going back to the basics and will practice guitar while having fun.

That is so understandable! Remember "Don't compare!" and also "Try not to be number one, try to be the only one."
Little by little, you are getting to where you want to go. Believe it!

I totally understand how frustrated about this.

Good job! Try not to focus on mastering. Be familar with the material.
Don’t compare with others. Just respect them! Admire them! We all need to work on foundations.
Practice part is not really fun but if you trust yourself… gradually you feel better. So be patient!

I always go back to basics! I am not afraid to slow down or go back to foundation becxause that’s only way to imoprove!

At 10… you record yourself and you will disappointed your playing!
Then go back to 1! (My Karate teacher told me this. 10 things to do.

You’re absolutely right—I’ve been wanting to tackle difficult and complex things. However, I’ve recently realized that even if I copy something, without basic theory and knowledge, I can’t reproduce it reliably, so it doesn’t mean much. I wanted to master the Essential series quickly because I knew it would solve these problems, but that desire became impatience. I’ll practice freely and slowly from now on. Thank you.

Hi ! Takano , I have some similar feeling with this part too . Some way I want to more quick to handle the ET part , but that really can't work , more rush I want to through that part , more anxiety and upset for me , so I make the decide like you , Give myself more time to feel this part , and learn & do this nature pace .

That is a great realization. Put less pressure on yourself and enjoy learning! Be curious like a kid :)

That’s so exactly! A lot of people tends to rush and expect a little fast.
This one is so normal so that’s why most people will not improve steadily.

Your 2nd part is so right! I have been teaching at Berklee since 1993 so I know about this part so well.

Not only not knowing theory but also if you don’t have basic techniques then it slow down all your progress!

Try not do anything quickly because you will go around same circke if you rush things.
