Hi, Tomo. In AT24 Twinkle Jazz, you play the F13 as 1 X 1 2 3 3, using your pinkie to handle the 9 and the 13 on the top 2 strings. My feeble pinkie can’t yet muster the strength to hold down both of those notes at once. Any reason to not use a barre chord (barre at the first fret for the R and b7)? That frees up my other fingers for the notes on the top string. Tonally, I think your way sounds better, but I haven’t been able to master that yet. I didn’t want to miss something. Thanks in advance.
Thank you Linda.
That chord is very hard to play it. It took me many days to try it.
Lower your thumb position so you can use 1234 fingers to cover R b7 M3 13 9!
Not easy at all.
Start with R b7 M3 13 then adding 9th on 1st string but you can try a little higher position first.
Please take your time.
Tomo
Perfect, Tomo. Will do it, I know thumb position is important. Good suggestion on trying it a little higher. Thanks so much!
It's not easy but you can manage it if you keep working on.
My pleasure! Thanks for asking this question.
