Love these supplemental videos! Thanks so much Tomo! the 1-6-2-5 really answered my question. I also googled tritone substitution. The concept made sense to me, but I'm not proficient yet at spelling chords yet. So I appreciate the explanation that is on my level.

Hi Clay - There aren't 5 beats in those measures. The 3 underneath the last three notes in those measures indicates that it's an 8th note triplet. so you're playing those 3 notes over 2 beats.

Awesome! I can't wait to add in #5 and brother / sister chords to my practice. I can now do the original chord changes at around 50bpm, but will slow down to 40 again to add these new flavors, then build back up again.

Playing the triads on 2 strings is making more sense to me after watching this video.

I can also see why we should try to hear which string is being played when transcribing.
Sometimes I just listen to Tomo play a phrase while not looking at his hands.
Pause the video and then try to play the phrases on the same strings/frets. Check and see how you did.

I'm relearning the melody using the two notes on a string rather than the triad shapes (I know, don't memorize shapes. ha ha)

Aside from the tone being more consistent, it's really bringing in the one string approach of playing horizontally instead of vertically. This is more help/practice in breaking out of the box/shape mindset.

Every time I think there can't possibly be more to learn by a relatively simple melody...

The endless possibilities of music and specifically guitar just keeps blowing my mind.

First of all, being a perfectionist! I did quit that part in many years ago. I really understand that very well.

A few suggestions for you & everyone here.

1) Use a little more simple metronome sound. This sound is entertain too much!
2) Use a lillte more slower tempo. This tempo is entertain too much!
3) Don't be affraid to strum far wide!
4) So... try it with super slow tempo so that you don't need a metronome when you are learning right hand strumming (Wide!)
