So I had watched a few of Tomo's videos on Youtube (and many other people's) and I was aware of Guitar Wisdom, but over the years I have spent a lot of money on guitar tuition material - and I wondered if I really needed to throw more at the problem. Perhaps I should just practice more.
Then I picked up a book by George Leonard called "Mastery." He describes the journey that anyone who is trying to master something goes on, and states that the first key is to "arrange for first-rate instruction" and that "there is nothing better than being in the hands of a master teacher." That kind of rules out being self taught - for me at least.
Well at that point I put the book down so that I could immediately sign up here and download a copy of Tomo's book. Sometimes you just know when you are on the receiving end of good advice, and it seemed obvious that out of all the options available this was where I should be - I just needed a nudge. And after watching some of the first videos and reading the first couple of chapters of Guitar Wisdom I am in no doubt that I have made an excellent choice. I am very excited to be here and grateful to everyone who has helped put this amazing resource together, and I'd like to say "Hi' to everyone in this community, I'm looking forward to sharing the experience with you. My name is Jonathan, I'm from Scotland - I'm sure there are others - and mostly I'll be practicing!
Welcome Jonathan to Guitar Wisdom! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!
So happy to hear that you already did read my Guitar Wisdom book! Please enjoy your new guitar journey!
