aloha my friends!
beat,
I wanted to make a video for the notebooks. This is helping me linearize my thoughts.
Top 5, then 3, then 2, then one.
Boom, video.
Easy peasy.
Meant octaves for major scales, then octaves for relative minor scales.
After I made this video. I walked around the block. Reverse direction of my intro video. I saw an older women walking toward me, but she was dancing, so happy I said hi, we talked, she is so nice, maybe I will see her dancing again some morning!
Looked like a different block! Unfamiliar even though I walked the other way a lot!
Then I realized this is the same feeling I have when practicing triad inversions backwards, it was like new triads! Now it just feels right, sounds right(?), looks right…
Refreshed!
This day is so special, I am so special, my family is so special, my gw universe is so special, the universe is so special.
Now for meditation, chromatic study!
There is a thread on it, awesome thread!
beat.
aloha my friends!
Thank you Sunil for shraing your morning! Great setup! Guitar, amp, effects, note books....all ready to go anytime! Lovely piano too! I love coffee too!
I love that scale roll! What a clever idea! Good work! Only thing I suggest 2 things.
1) Do not write any chord forms or any scale shapes... you will remember those and modes/scales anything is like water... keep moving.... so I don't write any of those. So keep practicing them so you can hear and you can go as you hear.
2) I use a little note book and try not to write too much. At most is 5 items in one side of page. I use my little note book for reminder (what to do everyday so I can make something happen.) Less is more!
Thanks so much for sharing this! This inspire others!
Tomo
Thank you Tomo!
Yes, I had this when I was talking about triad visualization. It’s good to understand fingerboard conceptually I guess, it helped me a little I think.
But it doesn’t include sound…like your triad studies. Musical instrument…I found out hard way, you have to listen. Haha.
I think it didnt even occur to me. Because I was not learning sound before, just concepts and memorizing everything. Sounds good, feels good, but then I hit so many walls. I think that will be minimize now
I realized how important saying notes, solfage, and which inversion, it’s the right way. Then noticing things I didn’t notice before.
I really like this idea of the list.
It’s helping me a lot.
I even got my guitars down to 4, three Strats and one Telly. I think I only need the white one, I think the sound can be super nice and round like a classical guitar. But, the electric guitar is a completely different instrument.
I understand why, when you say to start fresh!
The list is l everywhere on GW too, as you know.
Videos have a list. I cleared my prior list, and new list includes daily practice you suggest for…yourself, and everyone.
Also I rely heavily on emails from GW to track new thread comments. (This is kind of the same as a min-max heap sorting recipe or algorithm.)
Also I love when you’re suggesting focused time to practice in small chunks.
Seems to minimize hurting myself.
Reorganizing everything in the morning.
