Hey,
I work on Guitar Wisdom Book and set up a practice Practice routine to Focus on 3 things:
1. Basic Exercises
Chromatic scale, picking dynamics etc
2. Fretboard
Solfege, intervals, notes etc
3. Rythm
Accenting, tapping
I do everything with a metronome on two and four. I restrict every topic to five or 10 minutes and do just one exercise presented in the book.
The question is now what do I practice if I have some extra time? I understood that it’s not a good idea to do these simple exercises. For longer than 10 minutes. I also want to make sure that I do not skip anything from the book. So I will not choose exercises from next chapter. Is there anything that adds up to this basic topics? Let’s say that prevents me from noodling.
Cheers
Thank you Bjoerm for sharing! Looking great!
- Chromatic scale, R 3 7 Swing... must them everyday
- One String Approch, Triad Inversions .... no need to everyday.
- Tapping or any types of rhythm guitar... Good!
about temop.
1) No metronome (super slow until you can play it cleanly)
2) Metronome on every beat (40-75 etc)
3) Metronome on 2&4.
If you have extra time then I would recommend to practice R 3 7 Swing Groove or listen music deeply as musician. Listen one song over and over. This will take some time. Record yourself a few times a week. Start with "Practice" so do not play any licks.
