For example in C key and I am practicing G triad, root position,
should I say do mi so, or so ti re, or GBE
Thank you Mastercard, I think of this but never write it down.
Great question! First C
Think name of notes: C G E
Feel about intervals: R M3 5
Say those sound: Do Mi So
Then G Triad
Think name of notes: G B D
Feel about intervals: R M3 5
Say those sound: Do Mi So

Tomo, I was thinking about this a lot. So you say Root meaning Root of chord.
C would be called?
Also so when you spell chords it will be related to the chord and not the Key?
why?
because it is going to be apart of the key anyway with how chords are related to the key you are in?
this had confused me for awhile.

Yes. This case, it's all about C Triad. C is root.
You can think it's key of C... but we only think about C triad so no need to worry about anything else but C triad here.
Tomo
So ii chord. Think D min triad?
I think i am confused when people say b3 or b5
Are they saying b3 or b5 in relation to the Key or relation to the Chord?
I am now thinking about it and the other answers on this thread.
I think it is relation to the chord.
