Hi Tomo-sensei. I watched E shuffle blues video and I tried this. I am wondering if you could give me some advice.
In this video I am using Funk master pickup strut, MMBA and Franz metronome.
Thank you for your teaching to us.
Eiji Tatsumi
Love the count-in, body movement, and singing, Eiji! Keep working on that triplet feel and palm muting.
I know Tomo demonstrates slight variations in how he picks and palm-mutes. It is hard to explain in words, but look closely at how Tomo moves his right hand - it's a little bit softer, like a tap than a slap.
I believe this is the lesson you are referring to: https://tomovhxtv.vhx.tv/videos/tf-lesson-055-1-e-blues-shuffle-groove
Correct me if I am wrong! Just want to share what lesson it was so others can take a look if they'd like :)
Thank you Sammi for your support.
Eiji
Thank you for showing us a new challenge, Eiji!
Your left-hand fingering is very smooth and soft.
The metronome sound is wonderful!
I'd like to watch the video Sammi introduced.
Thank you!
Thank you Tadashi. I need to work on more for first string mute. Noise is ringing. I didn't notice when I am playing.
Eiji
Good job Eiji! Grooving shuffle blues! This one is pretty hard to master it! Your body movement is getting better and better. Relax your middle triplet note. Maybe a little softer. It's hard to explain this by words. I practice this much slower without a metronome. Your singing part was good!
Keep going!
Tomo
Thank you Tomo-sensei. I exaggerate too much the middle triplet. I will focus on soft muting. Thank you for your advice.
Eiji
Also I watched this youtube video. In this video Tomo-sensei teaches us like private lesson.
Eiji
Thank you Eiji for watching this lesson. Yes. I did a lot of details in this lesson video. Funny part is it is FREE so not so many people really paid a lot of attention! Thanks so much! PS, Did you watch my new funk guitar lesson video with new Gretsch guitar?
Tomo
Yes I did watched the funk lesson. That was also just like
tape lesson. Very useful indeed.
Eiji
Thank you Enji for watching that funk rhythm guitar lesson video.
So happy to hear that! Same topic! Glad to be helpful!
Tomo
