Hi,Tomo-sensei.
I have a question about chord progression.
I've doing triad practice with chord progression like C and F Blues, 1-5-4 progression and so on.
In order of introduced in FTR Lesson.
Because of that, I can hear the triad sound before making the sound gradually.
But, When I listening the song, I can't aware chord progression.
I can only focus on the triad of the chord that is playing at that moment.
Do I need to practice anything else?
I'll continue practicing, but should I pay more attention to chord progressions during practice?
Great question! Good job for learning triads! Please keep learning basic triad inversions. You have learned basic blues chord progression. Maybe you need to learn basic popular music style chord progressions, Such as C Am F G (I VIm IV V) then learn in different key. Key of A: A F#m D E (I VI IV V) like Stand by me. Learn bassline, bass motion too.
Don't worry! No need to rush! Little by little you can learn. Singing C Major Scale: Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do..,.thinking about name of notes: C D EF G A BC ..thinking about intervals: R M2 M3 4 5 M6 M7 etc. Ear Training. You can seach any related terms in GW lessons.

Hello Motoki- for me, it helps to listen for the bassline first. It's usually (but not always) the same as the chord progression.
Clay - This is great advice.
I read an interview with Sting who said that the Bass is what determines the progression of the song. The example he gave was if the guitar is playing a C triad (CEG) and the Bass plays a C, then the chord is a C. But if the guitar plays a C Triad and the Bass plays an A, then the chord is an Am7.
Ever since I read that interview, I'm listening to the bass to figure out the main chord. After I have the basic progression down I'll start working on the major/minor part. Just getting your ear in shape to hear the bass takes a little practice.
Great question Motoki.
I feel exactly the same way.
Thanks for your Advice Tomo!
Recently, I watch any lesson video again and again.
And I can focus on detail like both hands combination, less string noise, practicing triad focusing every detail.
I will keep working!
And I have extra question.
You said, Learn bassline, bass motion too.
Learning bass motion means, should be focus on the bottom note in every triad inversion?
For example, Ascending triad practice in C Am (I VIm ) progression with 543 Strings
C (root C→ 1st E→ 2nd G) → Am (1st C→ 2nd E→ root A )
If it is effective, I intend to focus on bass note motion in every triad practice.
