Hey, I’ve been getting a lot out of working with triads lately—they’re really helping me add more variety without overcomplicating things.
One thing I’ve noticed though is when I try to solo, I get a bit stuck once I move up to the higher strings (1st–3rd). I’m much more comfortable using root 6 and root 5 triads, but that doesn’t seem to translate as well up top.
Could we spend some time going over how to approach soloing on the higher strings? Maybe ways to connect triads there, or exercises to make that area feel more natural?
Thank you Karl for sharing your experience on TRIADS! I am so happy to hear that. Good job!
All you need is to fill in more area that you are not comfortable with. I think it is easy to play triads on 654/543 sets. They are same but 432/321 are different so it will take some time and do not rush. Please take your time. Do you think name of notes/intervals/Do Mi So?
You can connect triads with Major scale. For example you can play C Triad Root Position on 321 set. Then play A , B (passing tone) then you can play C Traid 1st Inversion, then you can play D, then C Triad 2nd Inversion.
