Am - Em - G (i - v - VII) back to Am Em G, why is it G major if the G is the 7 chord, shouldn’t that be diminished?
It sounds awesome and I love how the dude in the back is just playing over the top…

Hi Chris. There is no bad questions brother we are all here to learn. C D E F G A B C (C SCALE) has the same notes as the A minor scale but also the same chords! So A B C D E F G A the G chord is major only in the context of A minor called b7 major! The diminished for example in the minor tonalities is always the 2nd in a diatonic harmonies and not the 7! The same logic with notes and chords applies to all the modes!
