Hello everyone!
Last week I got diagnosed with cubital tunnel syndrome on my fretting arm (Ulnar nerve is compressed inside of the elbow) after going to the doctor because my pinky and ring finger have been numb for the last month and a half.
The doctor said I have to get surgery for it next week, and I won't be able to touch a guitar for about 2 weeks, so I was wondering:
Does anyone know some exercises I can do without a guitar, or just with the picking hand to try and stay at it?
I think I'm going to start singing a bit to get better at ear training and to do some backing vocals in my band, and I'm gonna get into mixing (also for my band).
Please let me know if someone has been in this situation and how you dealt with it!

Hey Leon-
Sergio posted something a while back - he was traveling without a guitar. There were some recommendations in that thread:

Thank you Leon for sharing.
I would do focus on listening same song or two everyday!
You can work on inside...how you feel music deepy.

Listening to music as tomo says is a great use of the time! He also advised before to try and imagine the song with all the texture and detail you can muster after getting familiar with it. Its a great exercise. I think its also worthwhile to figure out the chords of the song with the number system so you can get an internal reference of that chord progression.
Also, you could try memorise natural note names on fretboard! don't need to touch the guitar, can put it on your lap and look at it hahaha
