I took a lesson from a famous Nashville guitarist this week for a lean into country music and sharing a few thoughts shared with me.
- Melody melody melody hear it be able to express it then I can branch out but it has to be fundamental. (Reminded me of Tomo emphasizing hearing intervals)
- know the neck way better than I already do. Emphasized ability to go all directions without hesitation not looking at the neck much if at all. (Reminds me of Tomos lesson one finger)
- switch between scales effortlessly with no hesitation from anywhere even calling out Switch randomly. (Again Tomos lesson on scales comes to mind)
Then because of his background I. asked about bends and wow what a lesson about drawing someone the ear forward through bends. 2# and 5# a little harder to make sound good unless passing through
Hope that’s interesting. Tomo Ty for the foundations to be able to even listen to that country star. .
Thank you Cruz for your lesson experience!
You're very welcome! Good job!
