Hi Tomo
I’ve been practicing the chromatic scale every day for over 15 minutes, doing only down-picking and ignoring the tempo.
I feel like the timing between my left and right hands is getting better, but it still doesn't feel perfectly synchronized.
Because I'm spending a lot of time on this every day, I haven't been able to practice fast-tempo picking or alternate picking.
Should I keep focusing on this practice, or is it time to move on to the next step?
I hope review my practice routine.
And I have one more question about my strumming volume at home. Even when I hold the pick as lightly as possible and strum softly, the sound still feels too loud.
Because it's so loud even when I play slowly and lightly, I feel like I won't be able to do fast strumming for songs like "Just Funky" at this volume.
Do you think I need to practice playing even lighter, or is there usually a difference in amp volume between basic practice and playing actual songs?
For reference, I’m using a Fender Champ 12 at home. My settings are: Amp Volume: 3, Treble: 6, Bass: 4, and Guitar Volume: around 6.
Thanks,
Motoki
