So cool Jeff! I’ve been working on this tune (in a limited manner) as well and would love to hear Tomo’s soloing ideas as well. Have you listened to Chet Baker doing this one? It’s on his “Chet Baker Sings” album. His vocal presentation is so clear. It’s a great track to play with, and there’s lots of soloing ideas in there as well.

No I haven’t heard this one thanks! Will check it out. The one I listen to is the Kenny Burrell one. I have a different album on vinyl midnight blue.

Yes! Body movement is so important. That's why my Skype lesson students / homework is always pre-recorded video on unlisted video. This way I can catch all the moves and students can replay and won't miss it & can fix it.

Thanks! I've been working on foundation chords, triads, theory 1, technique for the past few months religiously in ways that you've suggested. The best part was the other day I got together with a person I play with regularly who is classically trained and after these few months I could actually have a conversation about music. I felt like a true music nerd it was amazing. We also worked on arranging a new On the Beach cover song by Neil Young too and it was so amazing to feel like a musician. Oh we talked about the Beatles and jammed We Can Work It Out and talked about mxylodian as it used the C major which is a flat seven in what appears to be a song in the the key of D major.

But my next goal is to do a E major blues improv with that same classically trained player so I wanted to learn more and can't wait for you to expand on that more in later lesson here or on YT or on your private YT live streams for GW subscribers.

Thanks for your advice and I'll practice as many different ways to see what works :) Also, thanks for your teaching. The journey has been amazing so far.

Thank you! I truly wish that I discovered your YT page and GW much earlier. I wouldn't have been noodling around for so many years. I'm finally seeing the progress I have always wished to see.

P.S. When improving so far I have enjoyed the sound of using the blue notes (oh right I should try bending to those instead of just moving to them), mixing minor (on the IV and V chords) and major scales (on the I chord) as well as throwing in some myxolodian scales at times. And also chromatic runs are fun, I love the tension it brings.

Me, too! I wonder will you be talking about 7th chord triads, too? The reason I ask is that I was on another YT site and found David Hamburger who does some blues and blues improv lessons and he used 7th chords or at least the drop 2 voicings minus the note on the 4th string and found it interesting as I recognized them from you Drop 2 voicings and remember how you talked about emphasizing the R 3 7 of a chord.
