Day 12 picked up on string vibration under fretting finger. Going slow. All’s well.
Good job!
Even slower!
Make sure that the string height is not too low.
At least, 1.5mm at the 12th fret.
Thank you.
Tomo
havent' missed a day.
interesting that I can play guitar for hours without pain, but five minutes of this hurts my thumb.
The exercise is a lot tougher than it appears. That is for sure!
Thanks for sharing.
It will take some time to understand proper way to learn, proper way to practice.
The 30 days Challenge really means .... even one thing to notice deeply... it will take 30 to 90 days.
Without these.... anyone can practice many hours... then not so much improvement.
Thank you.
Tomo
MJS,
Then it's really working!
Thank you.

Day 12 Complete!
Today my coordination felt off and I struggled with tension in both hands. I had a shorter session today because I was having trouble shaking it offf. Breathe. Be kind to yourself!
Best,
Erik
Thanks for sharing!
Don't worry! Take your time!
Relaxed body.
Thank you.
Tomo
Starting to realize focusing on one or two things max while doing the exercise is good. Yesterday I was thinking about note name thinking about posture thinking about moving the body thinking about thumb position. Today I only thought about relaxing the elbow and light touch when doing the excersize and noticed right away my thumb was navigating the fretboard more free and natural than before
Yes! Less things and more focus!
That's why "Week 1" "Week 2" is different and simple yet hard.
List up things and pick a few things. Good way!
Thank you.

Day 12 | Week 2
Focussed on posture and note sustain today. Noticed very little (almost none) thumb pressure required. Right arm seems to be levering acoustic guitar neck forward, seems to be almost enough finger pressure for left hand. Is that ok? or should I be consciously squeezing the left hand a small amount with each note? I will work on whatever uses the least exertion for the desired results? Very detailed, really enjoying the struggle :)
Thank you so much!
Good job!
Good posture.
Sustain longer.
The neck should not move while you are playing.
Maybe you are holding the neck by your left hand thumb.
Guitar should hold by your right side body & right hand elbow.
This way you should not use thumb to hold guitar neck.
Left hand is just lightly touching. I don't squeeze at all...
If you squeeze then you will use more time to release.
You're very welcome.
Thank you,
Tomo
That is awesome! thank you so much Tomo
Day 13 week 2 … concentrating on going slow and moving my body. Eliminating string noise and thumb position. Sustaining and repositioning the pinky as I descend. Even though I’m concentrating on going slowly as possible, ten minutes are over before I know it. I try to resist, but I start thinking about what’s coming on Friday. Looking forward to the next task.

Good job!
Good posture and moving body is so important.
No noise
Thumb position
Sustain longer note
Good lesson goes so fast!
Thank you.

Day 13 :) ~ Focus on applying less pressure to the neck of the guitar~
Today I feel the fingers on the left hand are gradually becoming less tens. But at the same time,I found that I tend to relax too much.At this moment ,the palm felt as if it had deflated and collapsed. At the same time:various casual actions
appeared. So I plan to intentionally pause for a moment with every movement I make.
I feel that the states of my left and right hands are different. If my attention is always on my left hand, the paddles may make a stiff sound or even pick the wrong string.
So I need to practice slowly!Slowly practice synchronized coordination of left and right hands!
Cheers to everyone!
Good job!
Less pressure.
Great to hear that.
Palm muting is difficult to do naturally.
You can focus this latter.
Good posture
Play super slow
Less pressure
Thumb Position
Those are so important first.
After these, you can use palm muting & dynamics (later)
Thank you.
Tomo
Day 13 | Week 2
Today, I will focus on:
+ playing each note slowly
+ palm muting the 5th and 6th strings
I will also rewatch week 2 video +2 more times
✨
Good job!
Super slow.
Palm muting the 5th & the 6th strings.
More you watch those videos, you will discover more,
Thank you.
Tomo
Forgot to post last night 😬
But for day 12 I worked on really slowing down the tempo to help with my pinky dexterity, I was focusing on the descending again: 4321
I also worked on my repositioning after the last note. I want this transition to be a lot cleaner
Thank you
Max
Good job!
Slow down.
Pinky dexterity
Focus on 4321
Thank you.
Tomo
Clocked in day 13. Relax…relax…relax. It’s kinda weird for me to palm mute cause I pick back to front (benson picking) but I’m giving it a go. Thanks Mr. Fujita.
Good job!
Yes! Drop your shoulder and relax your body!
That's why I do my funny exercise everyday!
You're welcome!
Thank you.
Tomo
Week 2, day 13
Notes:
• A larger question, (perhaps for the group?); I have been limiting this exercise to 10 minutes. Is it good practice to limit most exercises to 5 – 10 mins? I was thinking about practicing scales, triads, etc.
Thanks in advance for any input.
Good job!
No rules but less is better.
5 to 10 minutes but if you want to go deeper, like R 3 7 swing groove... you can go 15 to 20 minutes.
Then take a break a few minutes.
For scales, less than 10 minutes is plenty!
Triads, if you want to go deeper then you can spend more.
You're very welcome!
Always you can try it and feel by yourself!
Trust yourself and do not afraid making mistakes!
Mistakes will give us how to recover and be smarter!
Thank you.

Week 2: Days 5,6
I could not post yesterday, so I am doubling up today. I am reasonably pleased with my progress, focusing on each point. Nonetheless, I am still mildly surprised that I notice the smallest irregularities that need corrections when going so slow. For example, I have my thumb in the correct position on the back of the neck, but I do not move it smoothly when moving up and down the frets.

Thanks for sharing!
Don't double up! Not important. If you missed... or could not do... don't worry about it!
This challenge is all about consistency and commitment. And only allow you to do 5 minutes to 10 minutes.
This mean you just cannot to do 10 minutes and 30 seconds! Within 10 minutes!
Try to play slow and do something everyday even one minute!
This challenge is just one good example so don't worry!
Thumb position: First you learn basic position. (around middle or slightly lower than middle)
Gradually you will learn how to move your thumb with other 1234 fingers together.
This will take a lot of days. Only two weeks, you cannot expect anything yet if you want to improve!
Thank you.
Tomo
Thank you, Tomo. My post was not clear. I did not double up my practice, but my posting. I have practiced every day of the 30-day challenge without fail. I missed posting one day. Please accept my apologies for the confusion I caused.
I got it!
Thank you.
